Introduction

Greece govt. wishes to promote tourism and improve citizen centric services for all stakeholders through use of mobile based application integrated with GIS.

Problem – Tourism is one of the biggest sector for Greece Govt. hence, to enhance this experience and engagement the Govt. looked for a solution for local and international tourists.

Solution

A Mobile GIS solution was created which consists of all Points of Interest (POI),

It was then integrated with tourist and citizen centric services.

Application provided information for the people to explore POI on a map.

Results

1. 35% increase in ticket sales.

2. The local municipal corporation now directly engages with tourists and citizens in their respective cities.
